Ice hockey is the most popular form of hockey than any other hockey variant. Having its history traced back to more than five centuries, this has easily crawled its way to the top of the other hockey variants. The earlier versions of Ice Hockey used to have only nine players in a team. And as the time changed by, Ice Hockey too has gone tremendous changes and the number was greatly reduced to seven. Any ice hockey team must have a rover, a goalie and two defensive players. More than the other players, the goalies require additional protection as they literally stop the puck from making a goal. They need to be properly covered with chest protectors and back protectors alongside the leg pads and neck guards.
